We need it to succeed, to perform at our best, to think clearly, to heighten productivity, to generate amazing ideas and make the right decisions.
We aim to have an even more inclusive workplace across our business, where everyone feels they can be themselves and are valued for what they bring. We promote diversity and inclusion in the broadest sense, to create an environment that offers everyone the opportunity to perform, progress and thrive.
Over the past few years, we have made big strides in the right direction. The gradual shift in our mean pay gap since we started reporting in 2017 highlights the great progress we have made in nurturing a balanced workforce across AB Agri, with the insight showing a significant increase in internal promotions and hiring of more females in senior roles.
We are committed to creating an environment where everyone can be their best, authentic self. To help us with this we often work with partners and frameworks that can guide our thinking and help us to apply global philosophies with local application.
Disability Confident
In 2022 year we signed up to the Disability Confident scheme and are committed to shortlisting people with disabilities for open vacancies. As well as widening our talent pool, it is broadening our thinking about how our jobs and processes can be adapted. Our aim is to create a framework that can help to engage people with disability globally.
Armed Forces Covenant
We have signed up to the UK Armed Forces Covenant and were awarded Bronze in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme in August 2022. Our aim is to apply the framework globally so that we create an inclusive workplace that will attract, nurture and develop talented people from the forces, reservists and their families.
Our community groups are run by our people, for our people. They operate to reinforce, support and deliver what is important to members and provide a voice within the organisation. All of our community groups are a space for those who identify as a member of the community and for allies. The groups host regular events and produce resources that assist AB Agri with attracting, nurturing and developing a diverse workforce.
This group aims to understand how gender differences show up at work and how we can all support each other to establish and maintain an environment which provides equal opportunities, career progression and general support for women at work. All genders are welcome here! Only by working together and understanding each other better can we ever progress.
This network provides opportunities to chat, seek advice and tips, arrange meet-ups to support one another and discuss the many issues surrounding care for a child or loved one.
We want everybody to be able to be their most authentic self at AB Agri. Our aim is to create a community that becomes a place for peer to peer support, raises awareness and discussion about LGBTQ+ issues and makes recommendations on how to be more inclusive as a business. Pride is a space for members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies.
This group aims to create a more inclusive environment that shares and celebrates the many beliefs and cultures present at AB Agri. It creates an open forum to share viewpoints and be an informed and knowledgeable voice on Black, Asian and minority ethnic issues. It champions Black, Asian and ethnic minority representation and progression within AB Agri.
Our Enable group aims to make the workplace a better, happier and more accessible place for people with disabilities through raising awareness and building a community of people to support each other.
Our AB Agri steering group brings together Employee Network Leads, Executive Sponsors and colleagues to promote intersectionality and help to coordinate our D&I approach across the business
